Job Title: Visitors Center Representative
Location: Big Timber Visitors Center, Big Timber, Montana
Position Type: Part-Time Seasonal– End of May through early September.
Job Summary:
The Big Timber Visitors Center is seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable individual to serve as a front-line ambassador for our town and surrounding areas. As a Visitor Center Representative, you will greet guests, provide information about local attractions, events, businesses, and outdoor activities, and help ensure every visitor has a positive and memorable experience in Sweet Grass County.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet visitors warmly and provide accurate, helpful, and friendly information about Big Timber and the surrounding area.
• Answer questions about local attractions, dining, lodging, recreation, and shopping, and direct people to downtown.
• Maintain a welcoming and organized visitor center, including brochures, maps, and display materials.
• Direct visitors to sign our guest log to track visitor data and trends, (such as origin, reason for visiting, etc.)
• Assist with event promotion and local happenings by sharing information and materials with guests and callers.
• Keep up to date with area events, seasonal changes, and road conditions.
• Support social media efforts or light administrative tasks if needed.
• Work with local businesses and tourism partners to ensure accurate and current visitor resources.
Qualifications:
• Strong knowledge of Big Timber and Sweet Grass County is required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Friendly, positive, and outgoing personality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
• Comfortable using a computer, phone, and other office equipment.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
Schedule & Pay:
• Flexible hours; includes weekends and holidays as needed
• Competitive hourly wage based on experience
• Other duties assigned by the Board of Directors, or Chamber Director.
