“We had the idea to create a space that promoted Montana made products and recycling by offering bulk items with refill options — want to take care of our own. Now, we still offer those services we built our business on, but the store has bloomed into a deli; a wide selection of groceries meeting the needs of our customers; and place where the community can come and support local vendors and employees. We are so grateful for the Big Timber Community and the support they’ve shown us.”

In Montana, activities such as camping, hiking, and fishing are popular — as the Earthwise website reads, “they are who we are and what we do.” Earth Wise strives for the great outdoors to be here for future generations and are committed to reducing their carbon footprint. They do so by selling bulk products in reusable containers, reducing food miles thru buying many local, regional, and Montana made products, and selling many organically grown and processed products thus helping to reduce pesticides and herbicides.
Earth Wise offers refilling stations for their original personal care products such as shampoo and lotion, cleaning supplies, or even spices and cooking oils. The general store also offers quick bites such as sandwiches, soups, grab-and-go snacks/sweet treats, specialty drinks, and ice cream as well as Montana grown produce and other food products. By Montana food products, Earth Wise supports various agricultural producers around the state.
However, reducing their carbon footprint and supporting local Montanans is not the only way Earth Wise “gives back.” Earth Wise General Store donates and contributes to various causes within the Sweet Grass County Community as well as the Chamber of Commerce.
